"Social Media for Business - Who's Doing it Well & How"

Lidija Davis at ReadWriteWeb writes about Charlene Li, former Forrester analyst and co-author of Groundswell, and her keynote presentation at the Social Media Marketing Summit 2008 in San Francisco.

Li discussed the importance of social media, how the market is changing, and the best practices and pitfalls of implementing a social media strategy. The article reads like a "CliffsNotes" version of her book Groundswell. Although the article touches on some of the key points of the book, I highly suggest picking up a copy and reading it from cover-to-cover (have your favorite highlighter handy!).

I’ve gone the route of hiring an in-house staff, only to realize that it exhausted my budget and half the time I was paying for employees to sit around and wait for a disaster to strike. I’ve also gone the route of hiring an outside company to run my IT support, again only to find that I was being overcharged at every turn and I had no REAL immediate support, more like we were put into a “Queue” and when our n… Continue
